Lovely Memory

Lovely Memory is a short film created by young San Francisco film-makers. My role was an art director, I had to create the character designs, and design of a set. In post production my role was to create two different concepts for the poster. At the moment I’m working on a website for the short film, which will be coming soon! It’s been more than two years ago when I first went to Hawaii. Yet, I’ll never forget my first impressions. After 12 hours of trip due to the delayed flight, broken plane and even more waiting in the airport, it seemed like this trip would be endless. Emotions after coming outside of the plane were difficult to explain. The smell, the sweetest and the most gentle smell of vanilla and coconut, coffee and something so familiar yet unknown, so welcoming and delicious, made me absolutely excited and filled with happiness. The trip was fantastic, I wish I had a chance to spend more time with my camera and without being rushed, but to capture the beauty of this place. It was love at first sight, the dream which I want to see again… These are some photos I took during the trip. More photos on Flickr and more to come!

I’ve always been fascinated by different smells. As long as I can remember myself, I’ve been experiencing certain emotions because of the smells. Winter mornings, summer nights, fresh baked pastry, new shoes… everything seemed to tell me a new story, so complex that it was impossible to describe with the words, but so important and enjoyable. Needless to say I’m obsessed with great perfume. Surprisingly my taste has changed so much through the years. I remember liking very crisp icy smells like Cool Water by Davidoff, or Kenzo Perfume by Kenzo, and it would always be a very cold color palette. For a few years now, I began to enjoyed more sweet and soft fragrances like Very Irresistible by Givenchy, Kenzo Flower or Chanel Chance among many others. Lately I realize perfumes I enjoy the most have a pinkish tint, and strong notes of the rose (which I didn’t really like before!) This year’s winners are new Chanel Chance, Chloé and Jeanne Lanvin la Rose. I began to develop some concepts and illustrations for the project. I’ll keep you posted!
